Agak aneh melihat Leonardo Dicaprio tampil sebagai Arthur Rimbaud penyair perancis dengan bahasa Inggris aksen amerika, padahal semua aktor lainnya tampil lebih membumi dengan aksen inggris eropa mereka, sesuatu yang menurut gue sangat tidak masuk akal. Bukankah ada coach yang dapat membantu Leonardo bisa beraksen perancis or at least beraksen Inggris.
Namun disisi lain, Leonardo Dicaprio mengexplor sisi lain, total naked walau tidak explicit namun diulang ulang dibanyak scene, pun begitu juga dengan karakter Paul Verlaine dan istrinya.
Walaupun berpusat pada Arthur Rimbaud dan Paul verlaine tapi tidak ada puisi mereka yang memorable yang bisa gue ingat setelah menonton film ini. Kesimpulan sementara dan juga menjadi pertanyaan adalah apakah menjadi seorang seniman harus menjadi labil secara emosi untuk dapat menghasilkan karya yang bagus ??
